Practise and Professional Activities

Both Dr. Mai and Dr. Zhu have been through high-standard professional medical training, and have more than 20 years of clinical experience in diagnosis and treatment of diseases. They apply acupuncture, tuina and herbal formulae for internal and/or external uses, and also integrate Chinese massage with Qi, or energy. They use typical Chinese Medical ways to remove the blockage of body channels, adjust whole body balance, improve blood circulation, and relieve pain and stress. Many patients received such treatments, especially those with problems difficult to be treated successfully by other healing approaches, found results that they did not think were possible. The practice are recognized by Government of Canada Veterans Affairs, Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC), Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) and most Extended Health Plans.

Besides clinical practise, Dr. Mai and Dr. Zhu are also the instructors of Western Canadian Institute of TCM Practitioners. They give seminars in the community from time to time. Since February 2003, Dr. Mai has been chosen to speak weekly in the Program of Health, on the Radio station of AM1470. They have also been featured on television news. The purpose of these activities is to educate the public on how to prevent diseases and maintain health. Below are samples of a newspaper article (Langley Time May 1999) and TV News broadcast on which the doctors have been featured. (click the pictures for detail)
